Mrs. Louise Dumais, Elementary School Principal
|
Mrs. Dumais was born in Rumford, Maine in 1941, the youngest of five children. After graduating from high school, she came to California, married and had a daughter. In 1970, Mrs. Dumais graduated from college and started teaching in Victorville, California. For the next 27 years, Mrs. Dumais taught elementary school and served as a Reading Coordinator and a Special Education teacher. She also worked as a Vice Principal, Principal, and District Director for almost seven years. The job she liked most was teaching students to read and write. She thinks she is especially lucky to be able to retire with her charming, wonderful husband, live close to her daughter and granddaughter, and still be able to work part time with boys and girls who work very hard at learning to be better readers and writers.
