It is the policy of The Prentice School Admissions Office to receive ALL of the required documentation including the $50 processing fee before reviewing admissions materials and/or scheduling a tour and meeting with the Executive Director.

If you would like to visit our campus and take a campus tour, we offer open houses on the last Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. Upcoming open house dates: September 22, 2010, October 27, 2010, December 15, 2010, January 26, 2011, February 23, 2011, March 23, 2011, May 25, 2011.

Step 2: Intake Meeting & Campus Tour

Once the Prentice School has determined that all required information has been received, the Admissions Committee will review your student's information. If the Admissions Committee determines that the Prentice School is likely to be an appropriate fit, the Admissions Coordinator will contact you to schedule a tour of the campus and a meeting with the Executive Director.

If the Prentice School is not an appropriate placement for your student, you will be notified by a representative of the Admissions Committee. Whenever possible, we will try to make resources available regarding alternative options to be pursued.

Step 3: Student Visitation & Screening

If decided upon during the intake meeting, the student will visit the Prentice School for a minimum of three days.

Students in Grades K-5:
During the visitation, a Slingerland® Screening will be administered. There is a $200 charge for this screening and you will receive a copy and meet with the examiner to review the results. Children younger than age 6 will not be screened until at least the spring of their Kindergarten year.

Students in Grades 6-8:
Before a junior high student is allowed to visit, a Malcomesius Screening (Slingerland® Screening for the upper grades) must be administered to further determine the student's suitability for the school. An appointment will be scheduled during the initial intake meeting or by contacting the Junior High Principal after the intake meeting. There is a $200 charge for this screening and you will receive a copy and meet with the examiner to review the results. Only after the Malcomesius Screening, can a student begin their visitation.

In most cases, you will receive a final decision regarding admission on the last day of a student visitation. If the student is not suitable for the school, resources will be provided regarding alternative options to be pursued.
