  • Prentice students are bright, kind and creative.  They possess average to above average intelligence but struggle to learn in the traditional classroom setting.  Some of the terms used to describe the learning differences found at The Prentice School are: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, specific learning disabilities, language-based learning difficulties (reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension), language processing deficits, ADHD, executive functioning, organizational challenges, and anxiety.

  • The Prentice School uses research-based teaching methods and simultaneous multi-sensory instructional strategies. Our structured literacy approach is intensive, explicit, cumulative, and systematic. Our practice of leveling students into small instructional groups based on ability ensures that their academic needs are more directly and appropriately met. Our core curriculum is complimented by a robust enrichment and arts program to emphasize our commitment to educating the whole child.
