Join Us for our 2019 Education Reimagined Gala!
Together, We Achieve
Learning and attention issues affect one out of every five students, resulting in twenty percent of students struggling to learn in the traditional classroom. Children who learn differently are known to be innovative thinkers who make outstanding contributions to our communities. Nevertheless, many fall short of their full potential because lack of appropriate instruction limits opportunities for these students to learn. Often misunderstood for not being capable of more, expectations are lowered, thus making it even harder for students with learning differences to be successful in college or the workforce.
At The Prentice School, students who learn differently quickly discover that they are smart and can learn when they have a teacher who can unleash their potential. We teach to each student’s strengths through research-based methods and multi-sensory instructional strategies. As they learn to harness their skills, Prentice students experience personal transformation in a short period of time. They become confident to raise their hand, participate in class, enjoy learning, and develop hope for the future.
Would you please join us in helping some very promising students? We hope you will consider supporting our Education Reimagined Gala to be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, 5:30 PM, at the Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach. We rely on your support to help us fulfill our mission to enrich our students’ lives!
As an independent, nonprofit school that has served Kindergarten through 8th grade students for over 30 years, our mission has been to guide these students on their journey to be effective citizens with a future of infinite possibilities. We are proud to have transformed the lives of over 5,000 children and their families. Let’s work together to impact and improve the lives of 5,000 more.

The Prentice School’s Education Reimagined: One Child at a Time, gala raised over $360,000!
The theme, “Education Reimagined”, served as a reminder to our supporters that we are changing the lives of students here at The Prentice School and giving them the tools they need to succeed and become strong contributing members to society, one child at a time. At Prentice, we take great pride in the community of support we have built around students that includes parents, donors, board members and community partners. Just as the young boy in the “Star Thrower” story knew he could save the lives of the starfish stranded on the beach, one at a time, as a community we are making a difference in the lives of students who learn differently, one child at a time!
“On this night we celebrated our accomplishments and recognized our community of supporters for their unwavering commitment to educate students with unique learning needs. On behalf of the Board of Directors, faculty, and staff, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this memorable event,” says Devon Green, The Prentice School’s Head of School.
Prentice was honored to have Andy Russell, CEO of Trigger Media, as its keynote speaker. Mr. Russell looks back at life and considers himself blessed that he came into this world with Dyslexia, ADHD, Tic Disorder and OCD. From an early age, Andy knew he was different but didn’t fully understand how or why and became determined to prove to himself that his differences were a positive. “I am proud to be part of the Prentice family that supports students who are the ‘crazy ones’.” At an all school assembly, Andy played a well-known video for our students, “The Crazy Ones”. “Here’s to the crazy ones, the rebels, the misfits, the ones who see things differently . . . we see genius, cause the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
We would like to thank all of our event sponsors without whom we could not have achieved such success. A special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Experian, for their continued support to champion students with learning differences.
This event demonstrated that we can achieve great things when we join together for good, and we have the entire community to thank for joining us to better the lives of our students, one child at a time.
